Plutonium Fuel Impacts Georgia

The Department of Energy is planning to pay DCS (an international corporate consortium) to build and operate a new factory at the Savannah River Site (SRS) to make experimental nuclear reactor fuel out of plutonium from nuclear bombs. Across the Savannah River from Augusta and upstream of many Georgia communities, 50 years of nuclear bomb production has made SRS an environmental liability to Georgia.
