Dominion Resources has applied for a Combined Construction/Operating License to build a third reactor at its two-unit North Anna site on Lake Anna in central Virginia, about 40 miles northwest of Richmond. The reactor design is a General Electric Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR), a design that has not yet been certified by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

A coalition of groups, led by Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League, challenged an Early Site Permit application from Dominion for this site. You can find our more at www.bredl.org
