The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has elected to
make available, to the public, recommendations of its staff regarding draft regulations for disposal of high-level radioactive wastes at a proposed geologic repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. The
Commission is currently reviewing these staff recommendations for site-specific regulations and has not yet approved their publication as a proposed rule. The Commission is making the staff
recommendations available now to enable all stakeholders to have preliminary access to the document. Once the Commission approves a proposed rule, it will be published in the Federal
Register for formal public comment.
